The 50th anniversary of Lamborghini was celebrated by displaying the first look of Lamborghini Veneno in the Geneva Auto Show in 2013. Only three units of this car will be manufactured and available for sale. Green, white and red are the colors to be used for the three production cars based on the colours of the Italian national flag. The price of each of the three production units will be $4 Million making it the most expensive car in the world.
#9 W Motors Lykan Hypersport $3.4 M
Lykan Hypersport is the first sports car from Lebanon manufactured by W Motors. However, the commercial production of this car will begin only in november this year. Initially, only 7 units will be produced by W Motors. When it is launched, it will be the second most costliest car in the world at a price of $3.4 million dollars per unit. The highest speed that can be touched using this car is 245 miles per hour. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 Km/h in under 3 seconds.
#8 Koenigsegg Agera R $1.6 M
Koenigsegg Agera is a sports car from Sweden. Its production began in the year 2011. The first look of the car was unveiled in the Geneva auto show in 2011. The Top Gear magazine’s ‘Hypercar of the Year’ title was given to this car in 2010. It features V8 twin turbocharged engine with a capacity of 5 litres. The max speed that can be touched by this car is 260 miles per hour. At a price of 1.6 million dollars per unit, it is one of the costliest sports cars in the world.
#7 Pagani Huayra $1.3 M
Pagani Huayra is one of the costliest sports cars from Italy. It succeeds Pagani’s previous sports car Zonda. In 2012, the Top Gear magazine called this ‘The Hypercar of the Year’. Pagani Huayra is equipped with a twin turbocharged V12 engine. It is equipped with Pirelli tyres. The highest speed touched by this car is 372 Km/h. The chassis of this car is constructed using carbotanium monocoque. Active aerodynamics is incorporated in this car which differentiates it from its predecessor.

Ferrari La Ferrari is an Italian sports car which was first revealed to the world in the Geneva auto show this year. It is Ferrari’s first hybrid sports car. It is also known by the name ‘F70’. Ferrari announced that only 499 units of this car would be available for purchase. The cost of each unit will be around $1.3 Million. It is considered as the most powerful car released by Ferrari. It is a successor to Enzo Ferrari.
#5 Maybach Landaulet $1.3M
Maybach landaulet is a high performance open-top car. Its top can be completely opened at the rear side while the top of the front side will be completely closed. Its top can be opened or closed in approximately 15 seconds. It consists of luxurious upholstered leather seats. It features a powerful V12 engine. The V12 engine is provided with twin turbochargers. The maximum power output of the engine will be around 620 hp. Electrohydraulic brake system is used in this car model.

Zenvo ST1 is a popular sports car from Denmark. It is also called by the name ‘Zenvo Automotive ST1’. The production of this car started in the year 2009. Zenvo announced that only 15 units of this car would be produced and sold to a select few customers approved by Zenvo. In USA, only 3 units of this car are sold every year. In USA, the car is distributed by ‘Red Sea Distribution’, a car distribution company in California. The US version of this car is sold at 1.8 million dollars.

Hennessey Venom GT is one of the most expensive sports cars. It was released in 2010 by Hennessey Performance Engineering. A new Guinness record was created by this car this year when it accelerated from 0 to 300 Km/h in just under 14 seconds. The car’s chassis was built using the components of another sports car ‘Lotus Exige’. Hennessey Venom GT features a powerful twin turbocharged engine. It is assembled in three different places – Hethel and Silverstone in England and Texas in USA.

Mclaren P1 is a powerful hybrid sports car produced by ‘Mclaren Automotive’. It is considered as the successor to Mclaren F1. The style of Mclaren P1 is based on Mclaren MP4-12C with the addition of more body panels to give it a more aggressive appearance. The headlights of the car would remind you of Mclaren’s logo. Mclaren announced that there would be only 375 units of this car available for purchase. 250 of them have already been sold. The Xbox One racing game ‘Forza Motorsport 5’ featured this car in its trailer.
#1 Mclaren F1 $970,000
In 1992, the car manufacturer ‘Mclaren Automotive’ released one of the costliest sports cars called ‘Mclaren F1’. It was designed by a South African car designer ‘Gordon Murray’. In 1998, it touched a speed of 231 mph after which it came to be called the fastest car on road. It is lightweight and its structure is streamlined to make it very easy for the driver to see while driving. The American version of Mclaren F1 was called Ameritech Mclaren F1. It was modified according to the US regulations.
